dancing with the earth — by ashley trexler @tealflamingohair
The inner connection between our hearts & Mother Earth, as well as the eye opening book “Serve God, Save the Planet” by J. Matthew Sleeth, MD
@Reffneramber & @sherilikewhoa
Both models were prepped the night before with 2 different methods of eco no heat curls which reduced the amount of energy consumption. No hair appliances were used at all the day of the shoot. Hemp cord, caladiums, flowers from the garden, & twigs were used in the creation and styling of the hair.
Zero waste headbands were both handmade with love from leftover fabric scraps. The yellow fabric was dyed with an all natural dye method from avocado skins.
The dresses used for this shoot are from second hand shops furthering my mission to reduce our carbon footprint by not buying anything new.
This is the word that came to my head as I looked at these pictures over and over. A photo shoot like this is a very magical event filled with endless amounts of support for each other. The fairy tale “falling in love” term does not apply here. To specify, between the 4 of us we have a total of 7 children ranging from baby to pre-teen. These beautiful women all rearranged their schedules to be a part of my sustainable & eco-friendly vision I had for this shoot all while not expecting anything in return. For everyone to come together and help curate this collection of art is pure love in my eyes. My hope for this shoot is to continue the ripple effect of charity in our human nature & help promote sustainable artistry as we all continue dancing with the Earth.
